Products covered by WEEE will display this symbol:
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations (2006 No. 3289) (WEEE) is UK legislation designed to address the environmental impact of waste electrical and electronic equipment.
The main goal is to ensure products are recycled using the best available treatment, recovery, and recycling techniques to protect human health and the environment.
Both The Regency Chess Company (as a Distributor) and customers have a role in recycling, as the company cannot recycle items unless they are returned by the customer.
The RoHS Directive (EU Directive 2002/95/EG) came into effect on July 1st, 2006. This mandates that electrical and electronic products placed on the European market must contain restrictive levels of certain hazardous substances.
The Regency Chess Company is fully committed to comply with the RoHS Directive.
Customers can return waste electrical equipment to The Regency Chess Company when purchasing a new, like-for-like product (e.g., a chess clock for a chess clock).
The company will then deal with the waste product in an environmentally responsible manner, free of charge.
